Guacamole is a popular dip or sauce in Mexican cuisine that has its roots in Mesoamerican culture, specifically in the Aztec civilization. Its origin dates back more than 500 years, long before the arrival of Europeans in America. The word "guacamole" comes from Nahuatl, the language of the Aztecs, and is composed of the words "ahuacatl" (avocado) and "molli" (sauce or mixture), which means "avocado sauce."
1- Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and place the flesh in a bowl. Mash it with a fork or a mortar and pestle. 2- Add the onion, tomato, chili, and cilantro. Mix until you have a uniform consistency. 3- Add the lime juice and salt to taste. Mix it in evenly and serve with tortilla chips.
