United Way of Jamaica is a dynamic, people oriented, non-partisan organization providing services to strengthen the volunteer sector and bringing together donors, volunteers and agencies for the ultimate benefit of disadvantaged persons at the national and community levels.Since its inception in 1985, the organization has mobilized resources to fund skills training, health care, education, agricultural, community development and youth empowerment programs across Jamaica. In times of disaster, the organization has played pivotal roles in restoration efforts especially in the agricultural sector.
HOW WE WORK
The United Way of Jamaica (UWJ) brings donors, volunteers, community leaders and other stakeholders to address pressing needs in our society. We invest resources and build partnerships to support a wide range of services. In times of disasters, we collaborate with our partners in relief and restoration efforts.
VISION
Through donations, partnerships, and intentional work, the United Way of Jamaica envisions making Jamaica the place of choice to live, work, raise families and do business in which, all children receive quality education that offers a pathway to a brighter tomorrow, the cycle of poverty and financial dependence ends, and productive livelihood begins for even the most disadvantaged, and everyone receives effective health care that improves the quality of life.
